Fisokuhle Nkosi is the Product Head: Professional Indemnity Underwriter and Team Leader at iTOO Special Risks, the specialist underwriting management agency (UMA) underwritten on the Hollard Insurance license.
Fisokuhle started at iTOO Special Risks in 2014
Her role entails, team management, broker relations, underwriting, risk analysis, and risk acceptance or risk rejection, loss ratio management.
Fisokuhle is responsible for binder business of over R50 million in GWP annually.
She is responsible for maintaining, managing, and retaining relationships with Small to Medium Brokers as well as large corporate brokers such as Marsh and Aon.
Fisokuhle’ s responsibilities include underwriting large and corporate accounts of up to R250 million in capacity.
She has to keep abreast with industry developments and understand their impact on her product and insurance market, e.g. COVID-19 and resultant claims impact on the business.
Fisokuhle is passionate about transformation and equality and is on the ITOO Employment Equity team.

Fisokuhle previously held the position of Financial Lines Underwriter - PI/Cyber/D&O & Crime underwriting at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty.
Her responsibilities included underwriting and risk analysis and referrals on accounts to Germany for approval.
In this role, Fisokuhle gained an understanding of the South African context of risks and how different it was viewed from a global perspective.
Fisokuhle graduated from the University of Johannesburg and is currently studying towards a master’s in business administration at the Henley Business School.

Ryan is the Product Champion for Cyber insurance at iTOO Special Risks, the business responsible for Specialist Risks Insurance in South Africa and Africa.
Ryan joined iTOO in November 2015 and is responsible for various aspects of the cyber insurance offering including: defining and implementing the cyber risk assessment and underwriting philosophy, development of cyber insurance underwriting models, marketing and awareness of cyber insurance and breach response coaching and planning.
Ryan started his career in IT in 2003, with over 20 years of experience in IT security and risk management, spanning various industries for organisations of all sizes. Ryan holds various IT qualifications including a BSc Computer Science degree, National Diploma in Computer System Engineering, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
Having worked as Development Manager at Information Security Architects, in Risk Advisory at Deloitte, on the development of the CyGeist cyber insurance offering and subsequently launching the Hollard cyber insurance offering, Ryan has an in-depth knowledge of IT risk management and cyber insurance. His diverse skill set, and varied experience enable him to identify and provide solutions on data related risks from both internal and external perspectives.
Candice Toprek - Personal Cyber
Candice Toprek is the “[MY]CYlution” Personal Cyber Insurance Underwriter at iTOO Special Risks, the specialist underwriting management agency (UMA) underwritten on the Hollard Insurance license.
She started at iTOO Special Risks in August 2016 and has an intricate knowledge on cybercrime and cyber insurance and topics she has spoken about on broadcast channels include eTV, ENCA, CNBC Africa, and CliffCentral.

Candice previously held the position of Financial Lines and Cyber Underwriter - including Business Development at SHA, where she was responsible for analysing and underwriting of risk for Directors’ and Officers' Liability, Fidelity Guarantee, Commercial Crime, and Cyber Insurance.
Aside from graduating from the University of Johannesburg with a certificate in Cyber Security, Candice is also a Certified Associate of the Institute of Bankers.

Rethabile Shabalala - Secondary Perils
Rethabile is a senior associate in the Insurance Litigation team at Norton Rose Fulbright SA Inc.
She is a dispute resolution and insurance litigation lawyer. Rethabile’s areas of focus include property, assets and liability insurance, business interruption, professional indemnity and D & O claims. In the insurance space Rethabile acts on behalf of and advises some of the largest insurance companies and insurance brokers and intermediaries, both locally and internationally, in resolving and defending various insurance claims and on coverage issues.
Although Rethabile has litigated in a number of the South African Courts as well other African jurisdictions, she also enjoys and encourages alternative forms of dispute resolution which are cost effective and efficient.

Alastair Meredith - Art as an investment vehicle
Alastair Meredith (b.1984, Johannesburg) is a passionate auctioneer with extensive scholarly knowledge of early twentieth-century South African and British paintings. A skilled communicator, he has delivered numerous public lectures and also conducted many auctions.
After completing his Bachelor of Arts (Art History and English Literature) at the University of Edinburgh, Alastair attended Cambridge University where he completed both his Master’s and Doctoral degrees. It was his PhD research into the life and work of the Cape Town-born painter Jan Juta, also an accomplished muralist and designer, that first brought Alistair to the attention of Strauss & Co’s late Managing Director, Stephan Welz. He was shortly afterwards offered a job. Alastair’s scholarly knowledge, paired with his skills as a lecturer and teacher, make him brilliant at contextualising artists and their work.
Since joining Strauss & Co in 2014, his professional interests have expanded to include the curatorial aspect of displaying and cataloguing artworks. Harnessing his sensitivity as a researcher and nous as an auctioneer, Alastair now spearheads an on-going initiative at Strauss & Co to champion, at auction, neglected artists and stylistic movements from the twentieth century. These sales include a comprehensive overview of KwaZulu-Natal art (2017) and ‘Unsung History’ (2018), a sale of paintings and sculpture from 1910 to 1990. He is skilled at perceptively gathering works for these sales in a manner that fulfils the expectations of sellers while presenting buyers with new insights into South Africa’s astonishingly diverse art history.
Alastair was appointed head of Strauss & Co’s Johannesburg art department in 2017. He works out of our Johannesburg office. He is qualified to address any inquiries related to South African and British Paintings, Watercolours, Drawings, Prints, Sculpture on behalf of Strauss & Co.

Between 2001 and 2011 Mark was the sole resident kidnap for ransom responder on the African continent on behalf of Clayton Consultants Inc. and Triple Canopy Inc., premier global crisis management companies. He led the in-country crisis management teams and secured the release of over 50 kidnap victims with zero death or dismemberment.
Mark became a member of the South African Police Reserve in 1989 and retired as Head of the elite Endangered Species Protection Unit Reserve with the rank of Captain.
The ESPU’s mandate was to protect national fauna, flora and significant artefacts targeted by local and foreign criminal syndicates. This included counter poaching duties in National Parks, covert surveillance and investigations.

Mark is the recipient of the Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship Award for outstanding community service.
Tristan Marot
Tristan is an associate in Norton Rose Fulbright’s insurance team focusing on insurance advisory to the major non-life insurers, including advising insurers on policy wordings and coverage issues as well as representing insurers and reinsurers in disputes with other stakeholders across the continent. Tristan also advises on cyber-liability issues and, as a member of Norton Rose Fulbright's cyber-breach response team, advises on cyber incidents throughout sub-Saharan-Africa.
Tristan has extensive knowledge on disruptive technologies, information security and consumer electronics, allowing him to advise both from a legal standpoint and as an intermediary with more technical teams, having advised numerous insurance role-players on the leveraging of emerging technologies, the concerns associated therewith as well as on disputes which have arisen when it has gone wrong.

Jonathan’s career in professional and financial liability risk advisory and insurance services spans 20 years and includes experience at a senior level with leading international insurance brokers and insurance product providers.

Lwando Cwane
Lwando Cwane is the Team Leader for the Commercial Cyber division at iTOO Special Risks.
In his role as Team Leader, Lwando is responsible for the marketing and awareness of Cyber Insurance, training and development of junior staff as well as the overall commercial cyber portfolio management.
Lwando has worked in the insurance industry for over a decade including experience at large Multinational insurers dealing with complex insurance risks. His wealth of knowledge spans over several different lines of liability insurance including Cyber Liability, Directors and Officers Liability, Commercial Crime and Professional Indemnity.
Bennie Labuschagne
Bennie was in the service of the South African Police Service for seven years where he was trained in computer forensic investigations and was one of the founding members of the computer forensic investigation capacity of the SAPS. He was responsible for conducting computer forensic investigations throughout South Africa. After leaving the SAPS, Bennie managed the computer forensic division of Computer Security and Forensic Solutions (Pty) Ltd. He has a wide range of experience in the investigation and prosecution of all types of computer crimes, including commercial crime, ECT transgressions, and departmental transgressions. Bennie joined Cyanre in 2007. Due to the fact that cyber forensics is a relative new science, he dedicates considerable time to research and studying of international standards and investigation methodology used by Forensic Companies and Law Enforcement Agencies around the world. He is considered as one of the leading experts in the use of the forensic software and hardware in the country. Bennie is also a Corporate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners – SA Chapter
